Vanagon Air Intake System

Vanagon Air Intake System
One of the most overlooked components on a Vanagon is the air filtration. If you spend any amount of time getting off the beaten path, you know how terribly dirty the engine bay gets. Compound that with 40 year old intake hose and faulty connections, your intake system is under performing significantly.
I spent over 5 years modifying and testing a system to supply pre-cleaned air to our engines. With a decade of wheeling in the Central Oregon Desert and numerous years in “The Pit” on those Hot August Nights of Mogfest, I have a unit dialed in for the elements.
We offer a system from the rain gutter to the engine bay airbox which is a plug in play for the VW 2.1 L and 1.9 L WBX’r. It is shown here installed on the Descend van.
We will also offer a system for other engine conversions which can easily be modified with some creative couplers for your particular conversion. This system will get you down to your airbox and you may need an adapter for any aftermarket air box that houses your filter.
Want to save some cash, source your own parts and seal your connections? Choose the appropriate system from the pulldown menu per engine.
I have compiled a list of parts below for sourcing your own if you choose to go that route.
We are building these custom to order at this time! So when you order it will be at least 3-4 weeks currently.
We manufacture all of our own parts other than the flexible air duct and the pre-cleaner itself. Our adapters, gutter mount and vents are of course built in house. Yes all custom black stainless hardware like we have been using for over a decade now.
